Does "going green" have an end?

Seriously, this whole thing is incredibly hypocritical. You hear Al Gore complaining that we must 'go green' and save the planet, while he lives in this gigantic mansion.

This whole "saving the earth" bull is really driving me crazy. It's not doing anything! When cows fart, they release methane gas. In all reality, they pollute the earth more than humans. Look at the statistics or do the research.

Talk to any REAL scientist who has researched "global warming." They're gonna tell you the opposite of what the left wingers are so eager to spout.

Carbon Footprints? Humans are largely made of carbon.
What would be the point in forcing people to pay a person because they have "too big a carbon footprint." I know this idea is only beta, but with the one-sided house, it has a strong chance of going through.

I'm all for new energy sources. Solar power? Go for it. The only thing I'm not a fan of is wind power. It needs more power to operate than it provides.

I don't think any of this will stop until we are, as humans, completely devoid of technology. It'll be evolution in reverse.

Well, left wingers, right wingers, what do you say?

The "Save the Earth" thing isn't doing anything because it doesn't have enough support. Everyone says they're in favor of reducing emissions and cleaning the environment, but hardly anyone really does anything about it. I agree Al Gore is a hypocrite, but "going green" doesn't mean living without technology, it means making more environment-friendly sources of power affordable, which would of course ruin the oil industry, so it doesn't have the support it needs.

That's my take on it anyways.

By the way, I know that wasn't a very well structured paragraph. I'm tired. x_x

Its an excuse for the democrats to force out more tax money for a fake global warming scheme etc. a scientist found proof that global warming doesnt exist. the democratic party paid him like 4 million dollars to shut up about it.

theres no need for poems, encrypted messages and such. Just tell me the truth, ill listen in silence.

Doesn't have enough support? What would happen if there was more support? Would millions of Americans lose their jobs and be forced to pay for doing their job?

Going green is almost as moronic an idea as "global warming."

Yes, Al Gore is hypocritical, as a matter of fact my dad suggests that his "Green Campaign" is nothing but a giant scam.

You think it driving you crazy, I'm being drivin up the wall with Disney's Friends for Change campaign. WE DON'T NEED TO CHANGE, CHANGE IS EVAL, like televangelists. Yes, cow manure, and every other feces expelled onto the earth, does contain methane, its natural.

My dad studies natural science and he agrees, and left wingers don't know shit, as a matter of fact I question the IQ of Congress.

When did America become totally stupid? Of course we leave carbon foot prints, we are carbon based water sacks! I don't wanta pay for my neighbor farting in his front lawn, let alone walk on it, but it is sad that Congress is one side dominate.

I prefer gasoline, because it gives me something to smell in the morning when I'm on a road trip. *Sniff* Ahh, nothing like the smell of toxic monoxide in the mornin'.

This "Go Green" thing will end, when the Dollar is worth less then a penny and all of the Midwest is wiped out by the Yellowstone supervolcano.

Oh, and by the way, this is why Obama was elected.

>> Seriously, this whole thing is incredibly hypocritical. You hear Al Gore complaining that we must 'go green' and save the planet, while he lives in this gigantic mansion. <<

Al Gore pays 50% more for his electricity because he buys it from Green Power Switch, which is generated by 100% renewable resources. Even if his home was huge (and you're not mentioning that he needs to run at least two businesses from his home, as well as house his security detail), powering it does not pollute. He is not a hypocrite, and you are dishonest for saying that he is.

>> This whole "saving the earth" bull is really driving me crazy. It's not doing anything! When cows fart, they release methane gas. In all reality, they pollute the earth more than humans. Look at the statistics or do the research. <<

I take it that this means you now oppose the eating of beef? Seeing as most of those cows are only being bred to be slaughtered for food, it would sure lower the amount of methane in the atmosphere if we'd stop breeding so many of them. Next thing you know, you'll be joining PETA. :P

>> Talk to any REAL scientist who has researched "global warming." They're gonna tell you the opposite of what the left wingers are so eager to spout. <<

This is what is known as the "no true Scotsman" logical fallacy. Were I to provide an example of a scientist who recognizes that climate change is real, you would respond by claiming that they aren't a REAL scientist. How do you define a REAL scientist? Why, one that happens to agree with your (uninformed and unscientific) opinion.

>> Carbon Footprints? Humans are largely made of carbon. <<

A carbon footprint is "the total set of GHG (greenhouse gas) emissions caused directly and indirectly by an individual, organization, event or product", named thus because one of those GHGs is carbon dioxide. Your argument fails.

>> What would be the point in forcing people to pay a person because they have "too big a carbon footprint." I know this idea is only beta, but with the one-sided house, it has a strong chance of going through. <<

Cites, please. I have no idea what you're referring to.

>> I'm all for new energy sources. Solar power? Go for it. The only thing I'm not a fan of is wind power. It needs more power to operate than it provides. <<

Wrong again. If we keep developing wind power, we should one day be able to produce forty times more energy than we currently use. Obviously, we should combine wind energy with other forms of renewable energy, but it would be foolish to abandon it.

>> Well, left wingers, right wingers, what do you say? <<

Why don't you right-wingers go sit at the kiddie table and pipe down a little? The adults are still trying to clean up your messes, as we always do.

Instead of "truck", we say "lorry"; instead of "elevator" we say "lift"; and instead of letting people die in the street, we have free healthcare. - Russell Brand, on the differences between the UK and the US

So you're saying someone just pulled the Greenhouse Effect out of their ass? And the hole in the Ozone? You can claim it's all a conspiracy, but then you might as well assume the Earth is flat.

And as far as jobs go, if we make a smooth transition to cleaner, more efficient energy sources, gas stations would have to change what they carry, and people would have to buy a cheaper car, but otherwise I'd say the average person would be fine. In fact, they'd be better off.

And I don't exactly feel sorry for the oil companies having competition, either.

Remember when they were obsessed with global cooling? Yeah, they'll get over it soon..but not soon enough.

Remember that chap about twenty years ago? I forget his name. Climbed Everest without any oxygen, came down nearly dead. When they asked him, they said why did you go up there to die? He said I didn't, I went up there to live.-Roland Tembo
:iconwaqwarrior:
The holes in the ozone layer were much larger in the 1970s. Have you noticed? How did it get smaller? Magic?

The Greenhouse Effect is nothing more than a theory. Where is the proof?

I'm all for better resources, but not overhauling it.
So, taxing them for a 'carbon footprint' is a good idea?
